It just doesn’t suit me. I look green. People don’t believe me but I have tried, several shades, and I always seem to acquire a greenish glow to my skin which I can’t say is becoming and no, I am not looking forward to running around like an alien from Toy Story or reassuring people that no, I am not toxic, no, I haven’t been sick lately, or no, I am not coming down with something.
What I learned from that? You have to be able to be honest with yourself: some things are just not for you. Why? For the same simple reason that some are. Trying to force yourself into fitting a mold, or behaving in a specific kind of way because it is what’s expected of you will only leave you feeling like an alien: not like yourself.
How to get rid of the green? It’s quite simple: don’t wear orange. Enjoy orange through the people who wear it and look awesome in it. And be gracious to people when they ask why you’re not wearing orange “like everyone else?” – easy answer: because you’re not just like everybody. You are your own true self. You are confident in what suits you. You are honest with yourself. And you will not be led into an orange frenzy. Other people might look awesome wearing orange – but I’m just not one of them

I totally get it, i have similar issues with red. Maroon / burgundy are fine but somehow red doesn’t work so well 😦
